The Flute Concert of Frederick is a painting produced around 1871 by German artist Adolf Menzel
King Frederick was a passionate flautist and he conducted this concert on the occasion of the visit of his sister. The artist Adolf Menzel created a detailed depiction of music making, illuminated concert room with an opera atmosphere, shimmering candlelights all around, it’s reflections across the room, detailed flute and music stands. The overall composition and techniques used to reflect light across objects created lot of fascination among viewers and critics.
